I've had this alarm for 2 months now and just ordered a second for the back door. The door alarm is Very loud and piercing. I would consider a burglar would not bother entering a household if this alarm was set off. If you want to use the Dwelling mode (so that it sounds off perfect away when the door is opened), you have a alternative of deciding on "chime" or "alarm." For the Property mode using "alarm" you do have to activate it with your 4 digit code but you do not require to punch in your code if you happen to be employing "chime" for House mode.
When you set it to "Away" mode, you just want to enter your four digit code and leave inside 45 seconds. When you come dwelling, you have 30 seconds to enter your code to deactivate the alarm.
I am employing my alarm as a lot to know if someone is coming IN as OUT. I have tiny youngsters and you cannot be too cautious. I have my alarm set to chime whenever the door is opened. And it works like a dream. It is sufficiently loud for me to hear in my tiny property, even with a television on. When we leave the door open (bringing in the groceries)it's good that the door doesn't maintain chiming. I honestly haven't set it to the alarm mode, so I can't comment on that.
