I purchased a motion sensor alarm from Home Depot for $20 which had a 95DB alarm. It was useless as the sound could be barely heard even in the subsequent area. A thief would laugh at it.Returned this alarm. Soon after researching the net this was the most highly effective with a 130 db(decibals) alarm and for half the price tag. Its features are also far more sophisticated compared to dwelling depot 1. I would very advise this.

I purchased a keypad rather than a "remote manage mini alarm" considering I wanted to set up it on the inner side of the wall of my porte cochere. (There have been trespassers.) Given that there was no spot to put it where it would be inacessable to an intruder the keypad made a lot more sense for me than a remote control. The ten second warning (a loud chirp) works for me considering that it reminds me to shut it off. The shrill warble alarm is loud sufficient to trigger discomfort to anybody nearby and according to the warning insert prolonged exposure might cause hearing loss. It almost certainly would not alert a neighbor unless they had been outside and within 40 feet (mas o menos).
While we have had various serious rainstorms right here the unit continues to perform perfectly. Cats and/or racoons et. al. do not set it off but a individual walking in front of it does.
I purchased 2 units since, even though this does not enhance the volume, hopefully it will present significantly more of a challange to an intruder who has to go to two several places to turn them off (or destroy them).
WARNING: There is an ity bity screw that should be removed to insert or take away the batteries. These screws have been devilishly pre-programed to disappear without discover. Unless awesome care is taken they will instantaneously vanish in no way to be noticed again. Rumour has it that one particular purchaser was so distraught right after losing this screw in a shag rug that she became a Republican!
