Customer Reviews
I just received three of these water detectors. The alarm is just about as loud as a smoke alarm. The six foot extension wire is great for a water heater closet. You can put the water sensor next to the water heater and put the alarm unit outside of the closet where you can be sure to hear it. After placing the sensor on the floor, I gently placed a narrow piece of masking take over the top of it to gently secure it to the floor. I tested the unit several times with the tape holding the extended sensor down and it worked great each time. Without the tape or some sort of small weight the sensor could easily flip upside down and not respond to water as quickly.
The product is exactly what I expected after reviewing other customers' comments. I placed the three sensors in the following locations: sump pump, washer, and water heater.
I tested the sensors by using my finger tips and the alarm sounded, quite loud, by the way. The only design shortcoming is the lack of low battery warning.
