The Kidde KN-COB-B-LPM battery operated carbon monoxide alarm utilizes sophisticated electronic components to protect you and your loved ones from the dangers of carbon monoxide. This alarm contains a slide-out battery door that gives immediate access to the batteries and a safety function that makes it tough to close the door without having the batteries becoming installed. This simple and easy-to-install alarm is appropriate for all living areas and has a 7-year life and a 5-year restricted warranty. The Kidde KN-COB-B-LPM supplies you and your family members with a loud warning signal against the dangers of elevated carbon monoxide levels in your household. The battery operated CO alarm supplies continuous monitoring of CO levels, even in the course of power outages when AC-only units are not supplying protection. This unit is battery operated and has three AA batteries included. The test/reset button tests the unit for appropriate operation and also resets the carbon monoxide alarm. A low battery signal alerts customers when the batteries requirements to be replaced. A green LED flashes just about every 30 seconds to indicate the unit is operating correctly. The green LED will also flash just before a CO reading is taken and when any button is pressed. A red LED will pulse and a loud alarm pattern will sound when a hazardous level of carbon monoxide is detected. The carbon monoxide alarm pattern is four short beeps, followed by five seconds of silence, followed by four short beeps with a corresponding red LED flash. This cycle will continue for four minutes and then adjust to 1 cycle every minute until the device is reset or the CO is eliminated. The alarm alerts user to replace CO alarm after 7 years of operation.

Not sure what the prior reviewer was talking about. This unit has a sleek low profile design and appears to work flawlessly right out of the box. Significantly better looking than traditional round designs. No issues with false alarming in my months of use.

This item is junk and poorly made. No idea which way the batteries go in. No symbols for that and if you like it to beep for no reason...it does that great.
