I installed a pair of these 9 months ago and have had no issues. I did quite a bit of research before I ordered these. So many detectors have high failure rates but these seemed among the best. I'm happy to say I'm very pleased with them and would not hesitate to buy another pair.

If you have a KIDDE smoke detector that looks like this in your home and are trying to match it - don't think you've found it. KIDDE has redesigned the look of their detectors and while this picture is of the old model, they will send you the new model. The new model looks like this other Amazon product "Kidde i12040 120V AC Wire-In Smoke Alarm with Battery Backup and Smart Hush".
Gave three stars because it works as designed, but I wanted people to notice that it does not look as pictured.
